Introduction to Maileg
Maileg is a charming Danish-designed toy brand. It was founded in 1999 by Dorthe & Erik Mailil combining their last name “Mailil” with “leg”, the Danish word for play.
Over the last few years, Maileg’s collection has grown significantly and now contains mice, bunnies, rabbits and many other fictional characters. They live in a world of childhood imagination where matchboxes are beds for mice and kings and queens join each other for teatime.
Their collection comes with a large range of toy accessories that include clothing and furniture. They have created a timeless world with items that can be collected and cherished for many generations. We absolutely love Maileg here at Lumibear!
Maileg size guide
With all the different terms that are floating around we totally understand that it might get confusing to understand the size of each item. Therefore, we will give a bit of a rundown of Maileg’s different collections and the naming convention that they use.
First of all, it’s important to understand that Maileg has different collections:
There’s definitely some overlap between these collections (especially the mice and the rabbits & bunnies collection). Some of the accessories and toy furniture will work for each of these collections, but we’ll get into that shortly.
Maileg mice collection – size guide
Maileg’s mice collection has multiple generations and various themes. However, the sizing remains similar throughout these generations to make sure the mice will still fit the furniture and clothes.
The mice collection is definitely the most popular Maileg collection.
Every once in a while there is a new theme that comes out, and all the characters will have their clothes available to fit this theme. At the same time, there are also many accessories available to fit the theme.
The main characters of the mice collection are:
- Baby mouse;
- Little Brother mouse;
- Little Sister mouse;
- Big Brother mouse;
- Big Sister mouse;
- Father mouse;
- Mother mouse;
- Grandfather mouse;
- Grandmother mouse.

So, all of these characters from the mice collections will fit the Micro furniture. The Baby mouse will even fit the My furniture range.
Additionally, also has the Medium (31cm) and the Maxi (50cm) mouse in their range. These ones won’t fit this furniture (as they are significantly larger). At Lumibear we don’t offer these as we’re 100% committed to the mice family collection.

Rabbits & Bunnies collection – size guide
The Rabbits & Bunnies collection is a bit tricky, as Maileg has updated the sizes previously. However, all the new rabbits and bunnies that we have in stock are using the sizing format 1 – 5. The much popular My and Micro bunnies and rabbits are still available, which are smaller than the 1 size format.
